Stabilizing large-format patio umbrellas requires appropriate mass. The presented four-piece ballast system integrates perfectly with standard cross bases, securing the mast and distributing the load evenly across the ground.

Engineering of stabilization:

  • Downforce maximization (80 liters): The set comprises four independent modules. Filling the interior with water generates a total ballast mass of approximately 80 kilograms, effectively anchoring the frame during strong wind gusts.

  • Optional sand filling: The valve design permits the use of loose materials. Pouring wet sand into the tanks increases the total weight of the set to over 100 kilograms, offering extreme stabilization for cantilever umbrellas.

  • Locking geometry: We designed the modules for precise alignment with the arms of cross bases. The elements tightly fill the frame gaps, preventing any displacement of the entire structure.

  • Anti-Scratch texture: The outer PVC shell features a rough, matte structure. The applied finish masks operational scratches and facilitates cleaning, preserving the original appearance for many seasons.

  • Profiled edges (Safety): The outer corners underwent a rounding process. Eliminating sharp edges protects users from accidental injuries, elevating the safety standard around the lounge zone.

Logistics and handling
Emptied tanks weigh only a fraction of the target ballast mass. This feature radically facilitates transport, relocation, and off-season storage of the equipment. The installation process completely excludes the need for heavy lifting. The user places the empty elements on the steel arms of the stand, subsequently filling the interior using a garden hose. Tight threaded caps prevent fluid leaks.

Environmental resistance
High-grade PVC material demonstrates full resistance to fluctuating weather conditions. The material resists degradation from UV radiation, does not crumble, and eliminates the rust problem (typical for cast iron bases), guaranteeing multi-year outdoor exploitation.
